Ways Volunteers make a difference as Café Servers
1. Serve meals to Senior Center members & guests Monday through Friday, noon to 12:30 p.m.
2. Assist with set-up, serving and clean up with volunteer shifts typically running from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
3. Provide meals at the following Loudoun County nutritional sites: Senior Center of Leesburg, Ashburn Senior Center, Dulles South Senior Center, Senior Center at Cascades, Carver Center in Purcellville, Madison House in Leesburg, and William Watters House in Sterling.
4. Be a part of the AAA Nutritional Meal Program that provides county residents with nutritional programs that are social and recreational in nature.
5. Be a part the team that serves one hot meal is served Monday through Friday, with the exception of county holidays and other closings. Each meal meets the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) guideline, set by federal law, and the Nutritional Meal Program complies with state and local laws regarding safety and food handling.
What you need to volunteer as a Café Server:
Volunteers must complete all training sessions prior to assuming responsibilities. Food service volunteers also must be able to stand for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
They must be at least 18 years old to serve food.
