Description

Job Title:         Treasurer
Purpose:          Serve on the Executive Committee as the financial administrator/representative for Friends. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Day to day accounting responsibilities using QuickBooks - roughly 2-3 hours a month.
  2. Executive committee responsibilities
  3. Annual development and management of budget.
  4. Work with outside advisors - bank, CPA, investment firm, insurance firm with annual reviews and annual tax reporting.
  5. Responsible for staying up to date with all state and local financial regulations for non-profits. Annual VA reporting.
  6. Attend monthly board meeting and report on financial status. Attend other board strategic planning meetings, as necessary.
  7. Keeper of all financial documentation required to be held in storage.
  8. Aid in grant financial reporting as needed.
  9. Provide tax documentation to donors.
  10. Aid in fundraising for the Friends and promoting the non-profit.
  11. Follow all financial policies and procedures of the organization. Recommend updates if needed to the Executive Committee.

Qualifications Required: QuickBooks knowledge, prior use a must.  Basic bookkeeping skills. The ability to read a financial report.  Basic computer skills.

Support:  Support the Fundraising Committee, the program manager for the financial assistance programs (A Place to Call Home and A Helping Hand) and Contractors Care program.
