Morven Park Polo in the Park

We are looking for volunteers to help park cars and possibly help at the gate. If we can provide at least 10 volunteers Morven Park will donate $400 to Loudoun Cares! 

Must be 16 or older to volunteer. All volunteers under 18 must have parents sign a volunteer form prior to the event. (The form can be brought with you to the event.)

Everyone that volunteers is welcome to stay and enjoy the rest of the evening and also gets a parking pass to attend another night of polo. We provide safety vests and flags.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own snacks and water, and even a chair if they'd like.

More Details:

• We need a handful of people to help us direct traffic to the general admission and VIP parking lots and we need people at the entrance to those lots verifying that they have the proper car pass before entering. The work isn't strenuous by any means but will require you to stand and greet cars as they arrive. 
• Your group would arrive at 5pm for a quick orientation. We give out flags and safety vests at that time and give everyone their assignments for the evening. We try to have everyone in place by 5:30 and gates open at 6pm. The shift ends at 8:40pm. Everyone is welcome to stay for the rest of the polo matches and the dance party.
  
• Our "rush hours" should be when the gates open at 6pm and again just before the start of the 8:30 match.
  
• Dress comfortably as we are all standing for most of the evening. Shorts and t-shirts are fine as it will be warm. We encourage volunteers to bring water, a chair, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. and a rain coat as the weather can be quite unpredictable. 
• If rain is in the forecast we try to cancel by 4pm, so you would get an email from me around that time letting you know. If you don't hear from me then assume we are on for that evening.
  
• Because there will be moving vehicles and directing of traffic we would not encourage any volunteers younger than 15. We would be fine with a mix of adults and teens showing up as long as there is an understanding that the adults and kids will be spread out around the polo arena, not working side by side. A volunteer under the age of 15 is ok if their parent accompanies them (and will work along side them all evening). All volunteers will have to sign a standard volunteer waiver and anyone under 18 would have to have their parents sign it.
• If you can organize a group of 10 (or more) people to volunteer together on the same night we will make a $400 donation to your booster club or the nonprofit of your choice in addition to giving everyone car passes for a night later in the season.
