We need help monitoring our 5K course during our annual 5K fundraising race to help us keep it safe for runners.
As a volunteer course monitor, here is what we would like you to do:
- Hang out on the course and make sure it remains clear of cars and other obstructions.
-Call the race director if there are any issues, such as injured runners. (703-297-5527)
-Provide encouragement to runners.
- Enjoy good weather and views! This should be a relaxing volunteer opportunity if you like the outdoors!
Tips:
*some volunteer spots are best accessed by driving a car
*wear walking shoes and clothes that you might wear for a hike in the woods
*you may want sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks. Make sure you bring your own.
Arrival:
Arrive between 7am and 8am.
Follow your GPS to Far Bungalow Farm in Leesburg, VA. When you arrive, find Shannon. Text or call her if needed: 703-297-5527. Shannon will confirm the best location for you to monitor on the course once you arrive.
Background Info
The 7th Annual 5KK Run by the Love, KK Foundation is our largest fundraiser of the year with 300 runners! We are raising money to fund our vision to support small businesses and grow our community. Our projects are Farm to Food Pantry, Acts of Kindness, Internships and Scholarships.
We would love your help keeping this fundraiser safe for everyone involved. Thank you!
After the race we have a party at the farm with food, drinks and live music. Make sure you join us to have some fun!
