Description

In the interest of healing, The Artistic Fuel Foundation (501 (c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, has set a goal to raise a minimum of $100,000 for the creation of an arts therapy program for Uvalde, Texas through a film screening charity benefit on August 27, 2022 from 6:00-10:00 PM at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg. We need 30 volunteers to help us run this event.

On May 24, 2022 an 18-year-old gunman entered Robb Elementary School and killed nineteen students and two teachers and shot seventeen others.  This incident has traumatized not only those directly in the shooter’s path but an entire community.

We have organized an outdoor screening on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg, VA. featuring the critically acclaimed film, MASS.

Prior to the screening will be a panel discussion moderated by Cynthia Young of the American Art Therapy Association with speakers, Dr. E. Scott Gellar, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Virginia Tech and creator of the concept of “Active Caring”, Raquel Farrel-Kirk, who worked as an art therapist supporting the Parkland, Florida community,  as well as producers of the film, MASS, Dylan Matlock and JP Ouellette.

There will be a variety of art wellness activities for children and adults, live music and food trucks from 6:00-7:15 PM.

Tickets are by donation and can be reserved at www.artisticfuel.com.  Donations are also welcome at the same link.
