Outreach, Justice, and Community Service through community partnerships and collaborations
People of faith are charged by God to love, serve, and do justice. It's not only a Christian responsibility, all religions of the world follow that universal command which is why St. Gabriel’s partners with many organizations in its ministries of outreach, justice and service.
St. Gabriel's promotes and assists organizations with feeding programs by providing accessible information and volunteer opportunities using our social media channels (Loudoun Hunger Relief, Grace to Go, Mobile Hope). We support the Volunteers of America Shelter and the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter in their mission by referring and promoting clients, and we support LGBTQ+ teens and their caregivers through the pastoral care of the clergy.
St. Gabriel's community education programs under the umbrella Educando con Amor ~ Educating with Love are provided for all community members, not just members of St. Gabriel's ~ San Gabriel. We offer diverse STEAM programs for children and teens in collaboration with Inmed Partnerships for Children, Janelia Foundation, Amazon, and the National Institutes for Health. Our volunteers provide life skills programming and ESL for adults. St. Gabriel’s partners with organizations that serve immigrants and refugees in Leesburg and Loudoun County including DREAM’ers’ MOMS, Loudoun Free Clinic, Mobile Hope, LAWS, Catholic Charities, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Lutheran Family Services, NoVA Family Services. In a collaborative effort with pro-bono attorneys, St. Gabriel's refers people to free legal counseling services by appointment.
