Who We Are

There are many volunteer opportunities at Lift Me Up!, but most of our volunteers help in our lesson program: helping groom and tack our horses, leading horses during riding lessons, or assisting a rider as a sidewalker. Lesson volunteers actively engage with the horse, rider, and instructor, and should be comfortable walking. Other volunteer activities include barn chores, helping with special events, organizing and administrative tasks. All volunteers are trained during the job and are taught an emergency dismount of the rider.

What We Do

Lift Me Up! is a therapeutic horseback riding program that is dedicated to providing safe and effective instruction to children and adults with a variety of disabilities. We teach riding skills adapted to the individual's cognitive and physical needs. By combining the unique and special presence of the horse, our dedicated volunteers and the skills and caring of our registered instructors, we have been able to help hundreds of people gain confidence, strength, and invaluable self-esteem in a friendly, fun environment.
