Loudoun Climate Project

Who We Are

Mission: To support scientifically informed understanding of climate change to influence personal choices, and promote the development of a resilient local economy based on environmental stewardship.

Loudoun Climate Project is a volunteer-based organization formed through the merger of 350Loudoun and Sustainable Loudoun. We address global climate change through local action, promoting renewable energy, energy conservation, and environmental stewardship in Loudoun County, Virginia. Serving one of the country’s largest data center hubs and home to a major greenhouse gas emitter, we aim to make Loudoun a role model for sustainability. By supporting science-based understanding and building initiatives like the PurpleAir sensor network, we empower our community to reduce emissions and foster a resilient, eco-friendly economy.

What We Do

Loudoun Climate Project achieves its mission by combining education, advocacy, and actionable local solutions. We raise awareness about climate change through science-based education that helps individuals make informed personal and policy decisions. To reduce Loudoun County’s environmental impact, we promote renewable energy adoption, energy conservation, and sustainable practices that build a resilient local economy. Additionally, we are deploying a network of PurpleAir particulate sensors to monitor air quality, providing critical data on pollutants and their sources. These initiatives empower our community to take meaningful steps toward combating climate change.
