Who We Are
We are a neurodiverse team of mentors, apprentices, college students, community members and service organization volunteers all working together to maintain our garden and prepare deliveries for local businesses!
Legacy Farms is a local non-profit dedicated to supporting neurodiverse* teens and young adults seeking to develop job skills and increased capacity for self-advocacy, as well as special education professionals, job coaches, and college students who are in-training or seeking to develop their capacities in this field.
“Neurodiversity is a concept where neurological differences are to be recognized and respected as any other human variation. These differences can include those labeled with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia, Autism, Tourette Syndrome, TBI and others.”
What We Do
We offer apprenticeship-style learning and job opportunities in a neurodiverse community of individuals preparing for college, learning a trade, or seeking internships to further their education.
Following a defined 7-step model, we offer eight-week paid job contracts custom-designed to fit each individual’s emerging capabilities.
These job positions fulfill essential tasks in our garden and provide opportunities to advocate for neurodiversity within the community, while also allowing Legacy Farms to benefit from each apprentice’s individual talents on custom-designed organizational initiatives.
