OAR is seeking a Volunteer Virtual Instructor to lead our Peer Relationships class on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. OAR supports people impacted by the justice system as they build stability, strengthen life skills, and move toward positive, lasting change. This interactive class encourages participants to explore their values, choices, relationships, personal responsibility, and the kind of future they want to create. We need someone who is confident, dependable, encouraging, nonjudgmental, and comfortable leading meaningful conversations online. You might be a life coach, job coach, educator, facilitator, helping professional, or simply someone with strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with people. This is meaningful experience, a powerful résumé-builder, and an opportunity to use what you know in service of something bigger. Lead the conversation. Encourage growth. Help move lives forward.

Responsible Thinking: A 5-week program on the common justifications of illegal behavior and how to actively address each one for successful and responsible thinking.

Seeking Employment: A 6-week program on using knowledge about yourself to carefully choose a career, and how to use effective application and interview skills.

Impact of Crime: A 7-week program with participants learning how crime impacts individual lives, and the greater community, and how past or present traumas effect behavior and decision making. Participants will develop an understanding of restorative justice

Self Control: A 6-week program on handling strong emotions, including anger, fear, boredom, and resentment, in a proactive way to avoid negative consequences.

Social Values: A 6-week program on the values of responsibility, tolerance, caring, respect, and honesty; how these values, when shared, lead to a healthy society.

Family Ties: A 7-week program on developing healthy communication in family units in order to avoid becoming dominating, neglectful, manipulative, or passive.

Project Knitwell is an organization that uses the simple act of knitting to improve wellbeing and create connections for people facing challenging circumstances. Knitting is a proven wellness tool that reduces stress, builds community and fosters resilience.

Participants in our programs range from hospital patients and caregivers to people experiencing homelessness and refugees. All of them find solace and support in the rhythmic repetition of knitting and the camaraderie of shared learning. People like Kesha, a first-time mom who had a son in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for five months. Kesha said that learning to knit helped her relax while she was unable to take her son home and that her experience learning to knit with PK was a lifeline during that difficult time.

We are currently working at 15 sites, including several DMV area hospitals, N Street Village, Title I Schools in Fairfax County Public Schools, Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC), John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (JLG-RICA), Hopelink, USO Warrior and Family Center at Ft. Belvoir, among others. Each year we are giving out close to 800 starter kits and working with thousands of people.

Our programs make a big impact on participants, a volunteer who worked with a mom at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital who said: “Knitting was not just a way to pass the time—it was something that soothed my anxiety, gave me something to do with my nervous energy, and gave me a productive feeling I had missed during this long-term hospitalization.”

Executive Director: Lexi Keogh is Project Knitwell’s Executive Director. Lexi started at Project Knitwell in October 2023. Lexi is a nonprofit professional with over 20 years of experience in communications, fundraising, membership, and special events. She most recently served as the Executive Director of UpCycle Creative Reuse Center in Alexandria, VA, and also served as Development Director at Alice Ferguson Foundation. Prior to that, she spent 15 years in a variety of roles at the Alaska Wilderness League in Washington, DC. She has extensive nonprofit experience with an eye towards implementing sustainability in all aspects of a nonprofit -- from fundraising to organizational development and programs.

What we’re looking for:

Project Knitwell is a small organization but a mighty one! We have been able to accomplish much on a shoestring. Our paid staff are all part-time and they include an Executive Director, Admin Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator. Our programs are delivered by our 40 volunteers.

Our challenges are like most nonprofits – sustainability and continued growth. We are looking for board members who can help with that. We look for people who are passionate about what we do (provide knitting as a wellness tool) and with a variety of skills. We would like to find people who have experience with nonprofits and who can be a connector to funders/donors or contribute in other valuable ways.

Expectations of Board Members:

Length of Term: Initial term of two years, which may be renewed for successive terms of one year, with approval of the Board at the annual meeting.

Loudoun Children’s Business Fair is an annual non-profit fair organized by Little CEOs Foundation, with the aim to teach kids entrepreneurship through action. The fair helps kids ranging from elementary to middle school setup and showcase their businesses and learn how to ideate, launch and operate a real business. After 4 years of overwhelming response to our fairs, this is our 5th year bringing the fair to Loudoun County.

We need volunteers to help setup, operate, and clean up on Fair Day (Saturday, Sep 12th, 2026). We offer volunteer hours verification for students.

We rely on volunteer teams to run pumpkin collection events that benefit a farm or resuce/sanctuary Partner. 

Our events typically look like this: 

Duration: 3-5 hours. Collection time is 3-4 hours. Set up and tear down (including counting the collection) adds 15-20 minutes on either end of the event.   Note: Farm market events typically run 6 hours start to finish. 

# of Volunteers per event: We recommend 2 people for every two hours. If you can go 3 or more hours, that's cool, but given weather, bio breaks, and the unexpected, 2, maybe 3  hours is usually about right per late teen/adult person

What do you do exactly?

Although sun damage is largely preventable, awareness about proper UV protection remains surprisingly low, especially among children and families.

They founded UVision with the belief that education is one of the most powerful forms of prevention. Their goal is to make UV safety engaging, accessible, and memorable through community outreach, educational workshops, interactive activities, and innovative initiatives that encourage lifelong healthy habits.

Loudoun Cares is seeking Mah Jongg enthusiasts to coach and guide beginner players at our upcoming Mah Jongg Social on Sunday, September 27th, from 12pm to 5pm at Waverley Springs (16001 Old Waterford Rd, Paeonian Springs, Virginia 20129). You will serve as a resource for beginner players, help clarify rules, and ensure games proceed smoothly and fairly so everyone has a great time. Key responsibilities include:

We are looking for an instructor with strong working knowledge of American Mah Jongg rules and scoring, clear communication skills, and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Previous teaching or judging experience is a plus, but not required! Food and beverages will be provided.

We're looking for a volunteer starting in September 2026 to work with our students who are interested in beginner level Japanese. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity. Come in for a weekly recurring class or even just monthly based on your and our member's preferences.

We have our annual 5K fundraising race coming up! We have a lot of small errands we could really use help with. The first task we could REALLY use help with is picking up some of our donated prizes. We would love someone who is able to drive their own car and pick things up and deliver them to us, follow simple instructions and has a good amount of availability over the next week.

FORT Volunteers (age 19+) support youth ages 12–18 by helping create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where teens feel seen and supported. Volunteers assist with check-in, help facilitators during workshops, support transitions between activities, and encourage positive engagement throughout the afternoon.

The role is typically on Sunday afternoons, with programs held at partner sites around Loudoun County such as Sterling Community Center, Fusion Academy, and local libraries. Volunteers may sign up based on their availability.

An ideal volunteer enjoys working with middle and/or high school youth, is calm and flexible, and feels comfortable engaging teens in conversation. Interest in youth mental wellness or social-emotional development is a plus.

Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic and virtual school, there are unprecedented levels of demand for educational tutoring assistance. During the Spring and Fall we receive many requests to share our shelter with Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups. We are looking for a volunteer who will help coordinate these efforts and meet the groups at the shelter for a quick educational session and a tour of the catteries. We currently have  a volunteer in place who will help with training and hand off of the program. On-site meet-ups with the groups can be shared with other volunteers if you are interested in building a small support team of volunteers who may be able to help.

Do you LOVE to garden but have little space to do so?  Would you like to make an impact in your local community and share your passion with others? Then this opportunity may be for you. Second Star Farm and Wildlife Habitat is seeking an experienced gardener (or team of gardeners) to help lead and maintain an organic vegetable and herb garden during the 2026 growing season.  Our farm would provide a stipend for site prep and seeds, and would help the lead gardener (that's you!) turn a small plot of the property into a community garden. While the lead gardener/s would be the primary individual/s responsible for maintenance of this garden, volunteers are available on a pre-arranged basis to help with garden care and harvest. The head gardener (or gardeners if you have a friend/associate/partner interested in sharing this project) would receive up to 50% of the produce while the remaining harvest would be donated to the Dulles South Food Pantry and other community members in need.   

We are also seeking individuals who can support youth-oriented workshops on gardening, pollination, and the impacts of agriculture (both good and bad) on local ecosystems. Minimal time commitments are needed for these workshops, which are organized on an ad hoc basis, typically lasting only 1-2 hours over a pre-scheduled weekend.

Tuesday’s Children is actively recruiting volunteer adult mentors for our youth mentoring program, established exclusively for children and siblings of fallen military service members. This custom-designed program fills the gaps in services offered to families of the fallen with children 6-18 years old. Mentors can offer advice, share life experiences, help a young person navigate challenges, and have fun! So many mentors share that their mentoring relationship changed their life for the better, just as much as they changed the life of a child.

Volunteers are recruited, screened, trained, and managed/supervised by professional staff to safeguard that every adult is committed and qualified to play an active role in the healing of a child. Matches between a mentor and a child are made based on common interests, personality traits and similar schedules and intended to last a year or longer.

The impact of a Girls on the Run volunteer coach is as boundless as it is beautiful. Coaches work to support the Girls on the Run vision of a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. So lace up your sneakers and inspire a group of participants to be strong, confident, and healthy! Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade that creatively integrates running and physical movement. Teams of volunteer coaches are trained to facilitate our easy-to-follow curriculum with small groups of participants twice a week over the course of a eight week season. You don't need to be a runner or a competitive athlete to coach! Successful coaches only need to serve as role models for girls by showing up prepared and on time, by listening attentively, and by demonstrating a positive attitude! GOTR NOVA encourages applications from minorities, people with disabilities, individuals who are bilingual and all other qualified applicants.

Coaches are required to commit to 2-3 hours per week for the season, with a few additional hours required for Coach Training and the GOTR NOVA season ending 5K celebration. Garden volunteers at Dodona Manor play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of the gardens. They assist in various tasks such as planting, weeding, watering, pruning, and general garden maintenance. Garden volunteers also help with seasonal tasks like mulching, composting, and preparing the gardens for events and visitors. Their efforts contribute to the overall preservation of Dodona Manor's historic gardens.

We need an experieced grant writer to assist ABFA in applyiong for grants.

We are looking for a volunteer to assist in the View of Heaven Farm bakery.  You would work with special needs adults helping them learn how to prep, prepare and bake recipes.  Worker must follow specific rules and you would be helping them to follow those rules.  In addition, workers are learning what it means to have a job and to work with others.

Share your skills as an educator to inspire awe and wonder for Bald Eagles and other wildlife by presenting classroom chat sessions to students.  These sessions are reserved by teachers in advance and take place online weekday mornings and early afternoons from February to June.  Complete an Eagle Cam Volunteer Application and include your experience as an educator to be considered for this program.  We provide the eagle knowledge while you provide the skills to engage students!  Read more about classroom chats here.

Loudoun County Public Library needs volunteers to help adult English learners in our community with our weekly Online English Practice on Mondays at 2 p.m.

The volunteer will be responsible for assisting the primary Facilitator with encouraging English conversation and leading students through language exercises. The exercises will be provided.

Orientation, teaching materials and resources will be provided through Loudoun County Public Library, but volunteers are encouraged to be creative!

A background in language education is helpful, but not required. Likewise, speaking a language other than English is not required.

Ways Volunteers make a difference as Café Servers

1. Serve meals to Senior Center members & guests Monday through Friday, noon to 12:30 p.m. 

2. Assist with set-up, serving and clean up with volunteer shifts typically running from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

3. Provide meals at the following Loudoun County nutritional sites: Senior Center of Leesburg, Ashburn Senior Center, Dulles South Senior Center, Senior Center at Cascades, Carver Center in Purcellville, Madison House in Leesburg, and William Watters House in Sterling.

4. Be a part of the AAA Nutritional Meal Program that provides county residents with nutritional programs that are social and recreational in nature.

5. Be a part the team that serves one hot meal is served Monday through Friday, with the exception of county holidays and other closings. Each meal meets the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) guideline, set by federal law, and the Nutritional Meal Program complies with state and local laws regarding safety and food handling.

What you need to volunteer as a Café Server:

Volunteers must complete all training sessions prior to assuming responsibilities. Food service volunteers also must be able to stand for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 10 pounds.

The Linear Parks and Trails team is leading Second Saturdays, an ongoing volunteer opportunity to learn about trail building and maintenance and make a difference in the community!

We will use hand tools like loppers, clippers, handsaws, hedge trimmers, and shovels to clean and maintain trail segments, remove invasive species, install signage and a variety of other projects.

Each month will vary depending on program needs. You can expect to walk at least a mile, see wildlife, get sweaty and strong, learn, and hang out with fun people,

Patient and Family Support Volunteers provide support to hospice patients and their family members. Volunteers provide companionship, caring presence, vigil sitting and assistance in the patient's home, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and in the Blue Ridge Care In-Patient Care Center. Volunteers also provide respite relief for caregivers allowing them much needed time to rest, take a break, or run errands. We also provide companionship through our Pet Therapy program and also provide support for patients' pets through our Paws and Purrs program.

We are also proud participants in the We Honor Veterans program. We provide compassionate, specialized support for those who have served. Our Veteran volunteers offer recognition ceremonies, companionship, and support for families.

Becoming a Patient and Family Support volunteer is a rewarding experience through which you will make a direct, positive impact on the life of a Hospice patient in your community.

This orientation is specific to those volunteers who want to volunteer at the Lab during Field Trips during the week (Monday-Friday) and want to work directly with children and staff, creating great experiences for them. If this describes you, there are a few requirements you must meet:

- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You will be required to undergo a background check, at our expense.
- You must commit to volunteering with the Children’s Science Center for 10 hours in your first year (4 field trips).

Field trip volunteer orientation is designed to equip volunteers with the knowledge and skills needed to support students during their visit. The orientation consists of two main parts:

Presentation in the Garage: Volunteers will start by gathering in the garage for a presentation. During this session, they will learn about the organization's mission, history, and overall goals. This portion aims to provide a solid understanding of the organization's background and the context in which they will be working.

Field Trip Experience: The second part of the orientation involves an actual field trip experience. Volunteers will be assigned to groups of students and will rotate through various experience areas within the lab. This hands-on session helps volunteers become familiar with the different stations and activities that students will engage in, ensuring they are well-prepared to guide and assist throughout the field trip.

Overall, the orientation is designed to blend informative learning with practical experience, ensuring that volunteers are both knowledgeable and comfortable in their roles.

Field Trips are in the mornings Monday-Friday at the Children's Science Center Lab during the school year, except for some school holidays.

The volunteer shift is 2.5 hours, either from 9:30am-12:00pm, or 10:00am-12:30pm. 

Field Trips are for Elementary Schools.

If you are not willing or able to meet these requirements, we would still love to have you volunteer in other roles at the Science Center. You can assist in behind-the-scenes preparation and stocking, community events like Family Science Nights, and some special events. If you wish to volunteer in these support roles and not as a field trip volunteer, you do not need to attend an in-person orientation. Instead, you can sign up immediately for any opportunity on the volunteer portal, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements as listed in the opportunity description.

Rust Library needs volunteers to help adult English learners in our community

The volunteer will be responsible for encouraging conversation and providing lessons for each meeting with their student. Teachers and students are expected to meet once a week over an eight week period.

A background in English as a Second Language education is helpful, but not required. Speaking an additional language besides English is likewise not required. Teaching materials and resources will be provided.

Come help us have a good time! Insight Memory Care Center (IMCC) is looking for volunteers to help assist with a variety of fun, therapeutic activities for people in the early stages of dementia. Assist program staff with activities such as brain games, art, and outdoor walks, encouraging and supporting the group members to participate, assist with serving and cleaning up coffee/lunch, etc. Volunteers strictly help with recreational activities, and do not assist with personal care. 

This program meets Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00am-3:00pm. Volunteers shall commit to volunteer at least four (4) hours each week for at least six (6) months on a consistent schedule. 

Volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation that includes an overview of neurodegenerative diseases, common behaviors, communication techniques, and person-centered care. A negative TB test within 30 days of your volunteer start date and consent to a criminal background check is required.

Purcellville Library needs volunteer tutors to help adult English learners in our community

The volunteer will be responsible for encouraging conversation and providing lessons for each meeting with their student. Teachers and students are expected to meet once a week over an eight week period minimum.

A background in English as a Second Language education is helpful, but not required. Speaking an additional language besides English is likewise not required. Teaching materials and resources will be provided.

This person would be responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring partnerships and sponsorships for LBHN with businesses, non-businesses, and corporations. They will also need to identify potential community partners, schedule events in collaboration with the Events Coordinator, actively seek and research grant opportunities, write grants and letters, gather documentation, and submit grant applications. Additionally, they need to keep track of the grants submitted and their status, and keep the board updated on grant status. Finally, they are responsible for writing grant thank-you notes.

Coordinate fundraisers and pink events with businesses, non-businesses, community groups, and individual donors. This person also needs to ensure that there is an LBHN board member designated as a point person for each event. Would be responsible for tasks such as obtaining tables, banners, signs, giveaways, handling raffles, accepting donations, taking photos, making brief presentations, and providing write-ups to the Marketing Committee. Additionally, the Event Committee Chair needs to create and maintain an events calendar, inform the Marketing Committee of any campaigns or events for social media coverage, schedule meetings with school groups, order supplies, and write thank you letters to recognize donations.

Volunteers may choose one or both areas of Twice is Nice operations.  First, those enjoying interaction with the public are welcome to volunteer for front register duties.  Volunteers will be ringing up sales from various departments such as our Men’s, Women’s and Children’s clothing, housewares, books, China, crystal, jewelry and more.  There are light bagging and packing duties associated with work at the front register.  Second, we are in need of volunteers to work in the backroom where all the incredible donations from our community arrive.  Duties include helping to unload the donations, sorting and pricing the items received and arranging these treasures onto the sales floor.  Light lifting of donated items and boxing items for storage may be involved 

Share your musical (or other) talent with our friendly group of individuals who have early-stage dementia! Our Reconnections Sterling participants enjoy musical entertainment such as piano, guitar, and violin music - particularly with an engaging performer who plays popular, nonreligious music from the 1950s-1970s. This could be an individual musician or a very small ensemble. The group also enjoys people who share other skills or special experiences, such as science experiments, animal therapy, or laughter yoga! Ideally the volunteer would come monthly for up to 1 hour during our program time on a Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri.  

The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital welcomes volunteers from the community to join us in support of the Riverside Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, located at 44045 Riverside Parkway in Leesburg. Are you someone who enjoys interacting with the public? If so, we have an immediate need for volunteers to staff the front register. The shop carries everything from women’s wear, lotions, fragrances, home décor and seasonal items all artfully displayed. And of course, we sell floral arrangements, balloons and baby gifts for those visiting patients at the hospital. There are light bagging duties associated with work at the front register and requisite flu and other vaccinations associated with volunteering in a hospital.

MVLE is a day program for adults with disabilities. The Dance Instructor Volunteer will lead a group of adults with disabilities in various movement based activities such as Just Dance, Zumba or other dances. We ask that you be mindful of the physical ability of the group you will be leading. The activities will be held for approximately 30-60 minutes at a time. You may volunteer to take up as many shifts as you would like between Monday-Friday during the hours of 9:00AM-2:00PM EST. There is no evening or weekend availability for this opportunity.

MVLE is a day program for adults with disabilities. The Exercise Instructor Volunteer will lead a group of adults with disabilities in an exercise program. The program can include various styles of exercises such as Zumba, Yoga, Walking etc. We ask that you be mindful of the physical ability of the group you will be leading. The activities will be held for approximately 30-60 minutes at a time. You may volunteer to take up as many shifts as you would like between Monday-Friday during the hours of 9:00AM-2:00PM EST. There is no evening or weekend availability for this opportunity.

The Music Instructor Volunteer will teach a group of individuals about different types of musical instruments, styles of music and may also share their own musical talents with the group. The Social Volunteer will lead lunchtimes socializing with a single individual or a group of individuals while talking about various topics of interest. Volunteers are needed between Monday-Friday during our lunch period 11:00-1:00 PM EST. There is no weekend availability for this opportunity.

MVLE is a day program for adults with disabilities. The Art Class Instructor Volunteer will work with groups of individuals to teach them art. This can range from paintings and drawings to doing different artistic crafts. We ask that your program is age appropriate for our adult individuals while also being mindful of their abilities and capacity. Volunteers are needed between Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00AM-2:00PM EST. There is no evening or weekend availability for this opportunity.

OAR is seeking a Volunteer Virtual Instructor to lead our Social Values class on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. OAR supports people impacted by the justice system as they build stability, strengthen life skills, and move toward positive, lasting change. This interactive class encourages participants to explore their values, choices, relationships, personal responsibility, and the kind of future they want to create. We need someone who is confident, dependable, encouraging, nonjudgmental, and comfortable leading meaningful conversations online. You might be a life coach, job coach, educator, facilitator, helping professional, or simply someone with strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with people. This is meaningful experience, a powerful résumé-builder, and an opportunity to use what you know in service of something bigger. Lead the conversation. Encourage growth. Help move lives forward.

Responsible Thinking: A 5-week program on the common justifications of illegal behavior and how to actively address each one for successful and responsible thinking.

Peer Relationships: A 6-week program on how to identify healthy and unhealthy peer relationships, develop healthy relationships, and maintain healthy communication.

Seeking Employment: A 6-week program on using knowledge about yourself to carefully choose a career, and how to use effective application and interview skills.

Impact of Crime: A 7-week program with participants learning how crime impacts individual lives, and the greater community, and how past or present traumas effect behavior and decision making. Participants will develop an understanding of restorative justice

Self Control: A 6-week program on handling strong emotions, including anger, fear, boredom, and resentment, in a proactive way to avoid negative consequences.

Social Values: A 6-week program on the values of responsibility, tolerance, caring, respect, and honesty; how these values, when shared, lead to a healthy society.

Family Ties: A 7-week program on developing healthy communication in family units in order to avoid becoming dominating, neglectful, manipulative, or passive.

We currently need English instructors in Purcellville, Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Cascades, and Gum Springs. 

Classes are located at libraries and community centers. Classes are held one time a week and run for 12 weeks.  We have fall, winter, and summer sessions.  Most classes are held in the evening between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Must have native or near-native English language capability.

We are seeking quality mentors to further assist in supporting Loudoun County's youth population. There is an urgent call for dedicated volunteer mentors to contribute their time and expertise to a dynamic youth program operating during and after school hours. The mentor's pivotal role is to serve as a steadfast guide, responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and nurturing space for mentees within our programs (Arts, Short Film, Basketball, STEM, Professional Mentors). This space is not merely physical but extends to emotional and intellectual realms, providing an environment where youths can freely express themselves, explore their passions, and build essential life skills. As we aim to empower the next generation, volunteers are encouraged to join this meaningful initiative, fostering an atmosphere of trust and encouragement that allows mentees to thrive academically, socially, and personally. The impact of a mentor's commitment extends beyond the individual to contribute significantly to the overall well-being and resilience of Loudoun County's youth.

Responsibilities:
• Safely carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs up and down stairs
• Sort and distribute perishable and non-perishable foods
• Perform cleaning and vacuuming tasks to maintain a tidy environment
• Utilize basic computer skills for administrative tasks
• Assist with various duties to support the efficient operation of the food pantry
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with fellow volunteers and
community members
• Provide excellent customer service to individuals accessing the food pantry
• Display effective time management skills for task completion

Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Good physical health to handle lifting and moving tasks
• Preferred high school level education or above
• Basic computer skills are advantageous

Join us in getting your hands dirty for a good cause! The Piedmont Environmental Council’s Community Farm at Roundabout Meadows needs volunteers to help grow and harvest fresh produce for Clarke and Loudoun food pantries in our 2026 season. While you help your community you’ll learn more about the local food system and maybe even pick up a few tips on growing your own fruits and veggies.

Volunteer opportunities for 2026 continue throughout the growing season: mid-March through October.  We have multiple opportunities per week during the peak season (June-September) and offer one - two Saturday per month.  Volunteer opportunities are announced via email to all volunteers who have signed up.  

Volunteering is great for team-building! We are happy to coordinate School Field Trips, Corporate, and Group (e.g. scouts, clubs, faith-based organizations) volunteer days for groups of fifteen or more.

All ages are welcome to volunteer, minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ongoing Tasks (March-October):

Seed starting, planting, harvesting, and other fun farm tasks!

On-site training will be provided. Previous experience is welcome, but not required! Be prepared to work outside in variable weather conditions. Bring gardening gloves, snacks, water, sun protection, bug spray, and weather appropriate clothing. Long pants, hats, and closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Volunteer waiver required, a link to the digital waiver will be shared in the volunteer welcome letter you will receive upon registration.

Visit rehabber’s home to assist with animals in rehabilitation.  Requires minimum of 2 on-site visits per month busy season  (March – Oct).  A.E.R.O. projects can be supported during winter months.
