Volunteering is an excellent way to serve within our community. Essential to the successful operation of our company are our volunteers backing up our firefighters and rescuers in organization and administration within our company. Highly involved, our volunteers in administration support the daily operation of the company and its future success.

Loudoun County Volunteer Fire-Rescue Stations are seeking VOLUNTEERS to lead and assist in many areas, including, but not limited to:

Bingo Night helper, Social Event Planners, Open House Coordinators, Social Media Administrators, Publicity Newspaper Liaison/Pres Release Writers, Recruitment Coordinators, Website Developers/Administrators, Interpreters, Photographers, Chaplains, Grant Writers, In-Station Training Coordinators, and many other roles. We’ll work with your skills, interests, and passions and your schedule

*Expectations and Qualifications: Most work can be done offsite or during evening hours but must meet deadlines. Include on your application any special consideration, experiences or requirements that we should know about relating to the job duties.

Loudoun County Fire-Rescue is looking for persons who want to provide medical care in our community as emergency first responders. We provide you the training and experience - you provide the passion.   

Training is intensive, 1 year and we ask for at least a two-year commitment.  But in a year from now you could be a Nationally registered EMT.  Take advantage of our offer to provide you free training and experience and we'll utilize your enthusiasm to emergency response.  All applicants must pass a background check and a physical that we provide at no cost to you.   Loudoun County has multiple EMS station in the community.  We'll find you a station close to your home so you can give back directly to your neighbors. 

Volunteers must be 18 years old to sit for the test but can affiliate at the age of 16.  We have 1 station in Eastern and Western Loudoun that accepts 14 -18 year olds as EMS Explorers.

Loudoun County Volunteer Fire-Rescue is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals ready to make a difference in the surrounding community. Purcellville operates as a combination organization within the Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management system. Both men and women, between the ages of 16 and 60, staff our trucks, provide administrative support, and offer a variety of emergency services to the community.

Seeking Volunteers Firefighters:

Prepares citizens to prevent fire damage by developing and conducting educational and training program Ensures availability of water at fire scene by testing hydrants; requesting and expediting repairs; verifying repair Minimizes fire damage by responding to alarms; driving and operating equipment; regulating water pressure; combating and extinguishing fires; rescuing and reviving people Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying supervisor of needed repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; studying publications; participating in scheduled drills Maintains fire station building, grounds, and related equipment by completing maintenance schedules Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
