Docents greet and conduct tours for visitors to Dodona Manor. General George C. Marshall bought a house in Leesburg while serving as US Army Chief of Staff during World War II. He then served as Secretary of State and architect of the European  Recovery Program ("Marshall Plan"), President of the American Red Cross, and as Secretary of Defense. Docents should possess excellent public speaking skills and be willing to learn an extensive amount about Marshall, his house, and its furnishings. Resources and training are provided. Interested people should first take a tour of Dodona Manor, open to the public on Saturday and Sunday and by appointment during the week, to understand the role of docents.
