Special Olympics Virginia - Loudoun County has partnered with Destination Races to provide volunteers for the 2016 Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon. Volunteer positions include, handing out water to the runners, filling race/goody bags, course "marshal" duties, assist with registration, and much more. Supervised children age 10 and over can qualify.
This years’ goal is to secure 150 volunteer spots for the event. For every volunteer position we fill, Destination Races will donate $50.00 to the athletes and families of Special Olympics Loudoun County! Sign up NOW to participate. Athletes, families and friends are encouraged to attend.

EXPO - Lansdowne Resort
Please show up 10-15 minutes before your scheduled shift.
Report to Volunteer Check-In to get your shirt and assignment.
Bring a snack with you; water will be readily available.
You will be handing out Bibs and Race Shirts to the participants
FESTIVAL SET UP/RECOVERY BAG STUFFING - Doukenie Winery
Report to Festival area (Doukenie Winery) where you will be helping staff
to set up the Festival and Finish Area or stuffing Recovery Bags for the runners with fruit and healthy snacks.
June 4th, 2016
RACE DAY:
Aid Stations, Course Monitors and Finish Line Volunteers are to check in to their location promptly at the assigned time. Bring layers as it may be cold, water, snack and a cheerful spirit :)
FESTIVAL and WINE GLASS TENT:
Check in with the Festival Coordinator at your assigned time, bring layers, water, and snack. You will be helping with either distributing wine glasses, pouring beer or wine, or clean up after the event.
