What We Do:
The Ampersand Pantry Project was created to help our community during these very difficult times. Aside from giving out hundreds of meals a day, we also give out diapers to all the families who come to our drive-through location on East Market Street and our pantries that are located on Edwards Ferry Road and Harrison Street. Everyday, we give out over 800 diapers, sizes 1-6. In just 6 weeks, we have given out more than 200,000 diapers.
The Process:
Once we receive the new/unopened pack of diapers, one of our volunteers packages 8 individual diapers in a gallon Ziploc bag and labels the bag of according to the size (our volunteers wear masks and gloves during this process to ensure their safety and the safety of our recipients) . This process is continued for the rest of the diapers that we receive. Once the diapers are packaged and labeled, they are ready to be distributed to our recipients using our social distancing stick that can be viewed below.
Diaper Delivery Instructions:
We are based in our drive-through location at 338 East Market St. Leesburg, VA 20176. Please come by and drop the diapers off anytime Monday - Sunday between 10:30am - 12:30pm.
