Front Desk Concierge volunteers assist in the daily customer service duties at one of Loudoun Counties five senior centers: Ashburn Senior Center, Carver Center in Purcellville, Senior Center at Cascades, Dulles South Senior Center, and Senior Center of Leesburg. Class Instructors engage with senior center members at one of five Loudoun County centers: Ashburn Senior Center, Carver Center in Purcellville, Senior Center at Cascades, Dulles South Senior Center, and Senior Center of Leesburg. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am - 12:00pm. Activities include crafts, bingo, bridge, line dance, field trips, fitness, clubs, health screening and information, games, and special events.

Ways Volunteers make a difference as Café Servers

1. Serve meals to Senior Center members & guests Monday through Friday, noon to 12:30 p.m. 

2. Assist with set-up, serving and clean up with volunteer shifts typically running from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

3. Provide meals at the following Loudoun County nutritional sites: Senior Center of Leesburg, Ashburn Senior Center, Dulles South Senior Center, Senior Center at Cascades, Carver Center in Purcellville, Madison House in Leesburg, and William Watters House in Sterling.

4. Be a part of the AAA Nutritional Meal Program that provides county residents with nutritional programs that are social and recreational in nature.

5. Be a part the team that serves one hot meal is served Monday through Friday, with the exception of county holidays and other closings. Each meal meets the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) guideline, set by federal law, and the Nutritional Meal Program complies with state and local laws regarding safety and food handling.

What you need to volunteer as a Café Server:

Volunteers must complete all training sessions prior to assuming responsibilities. Food service volunteers also must be able to stand for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 10 pounds.

They must be at least 18 years old to serve food.

The Linear Parks and Trails team is leading Second Saturdays, an ongoing volunteer opportunity to learn about trail building and maintenance and make a difference in the community!

We will use hand tools like loppers, clippers, handsaws, hedge trimmers, and shovels to clean and maintain trail segments, remove invasive species, install signage and a variety of other projects.

Each month will vary depending on program needs. You can expect to walk at least a mile, see wildlife, get sweaty and strong, learn, and hang out with fun people,

The Linear Parks and Trails System Plan to create interconnected natural resource corridors. Corridors provide habitat to native species and multi-use trails for recreation and transit. We conserve natural resources, preserve history, and connect communities.

The Home Delivered Meals Program is looking for volunteers to deliver a weekday noontime hot nutritious meal and a friendly smile to seniors confined to their homes. For as little as one and a half hour per week or month, your good deed will touch the hearts of our homebound older adults across the county. Volunteers pick up meals Monday through Friday from 10:30 to 12:00 p.m., except for specified holidays and closings due to inclement weather.
