Volunteer: Beginner Mah Jongg Instructor & Table Coach Needed for Loudoun Cares’ Mah Jongg SocialLoudoun Cares is seeking Mah Jongg enthusiasts to coach and guide beginner players at our upcoming Mah Jongg Social on Sunday, September 27th, from 12pm to 5pm at Waverley Springs (16001 Old Waterford Rd, Paeonian Springs, Virginia 20129). You will serve as a resource for beginner players, help clarify rules, and ensure games proceed smoothly and fairly so everyone has a great time. Key responsibilities include: Beginner Assistance: Lead a primer on how to play Mah Jongg, and provide quick, on-the-spot tips or brief rule explanations to beginner players to build their confidence.Table Guidance: Float between tournament tables to assist players, and settle scoring disputes.Event Support: Assist with pre-event table setup (tiles, score sheets).Positive Environment: Maintain a welcoming, encouraging, and sportsmanlike atmosphere throughout the event.We are looking for an instructor with strong working knowledge of American Mah Jongg rules and scoring, clear communication skills, and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Previous teaching or judging experience is a plus, but not required! Food and beverages will be provided.
