Who We Are

Cascades Community Association is a 2,500 acre planned community with 6,500 homes along the Potomac River north of Route 7. It received the “Finest for Family Living” award for 1993 and 1994, the Best Large Association Award in 2002, and the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute’s (WMCCAI) 2011 Humanitarian of the Year.

Amenities include five community centers, 5 swimming pools (of which one has designated hours exclusively for lap lane swimming), 15 tennis courts of which 4 have lights, 10 multipurpose courts, 25 tot lots, a bocce court and a soccer field. Riverfront access to the Potomac River along with a boat launch, 18 hole golf course, mini golf, rental cabins, and a picnic area are all available at Algonkian Regional Park.

What We Do

The main purpose of a community association is to serve as a type of governing body in a given community, in order to maintain a sense of order and retain or increase property values as a result.  A community association does this by maintaining the common areas and common elements in a community, as well as enforcing rules of the association on private property owners to ensure a somewhat consistent feel in the community.  All of that is accomplished by the association collecting fees from those private property owners, and in turn managing and investing that money into maintaining and enhancing the community at the direction of the Board of Directors.
