Since opening the shelter doors in 1985, LAWS has expanded to provide a full, comprehensive services to adult and child victims of domestic and sexual violence. In addition to providing emergency shelter, we provide counseling, legal services, support groups, parenting classes, advocacy, and community outreach. On average, we provide direct services to over 1,200 adult and child victims of domestic and sexual violence each year. LAWS also operates a thrift store, The Resourceful Woman, and the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center. LAWS has a staff of approximately 35 employees and 75 volunteers. Our volunteer Board of Directors represents a diverse group of community leaders who provide governance and oversight. All of our services are free and confidential!
We serve females, males, children, LGBTQ+, and anyone who has been or is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or child abuse!
