Save the Tails, Inc.

We are a nonprofit 501c(3) dog rescue located in Loudoun County.

We are Save the Tails, Inc., a nonprofit, foster based dog rescue group based in Loudoun County, Virginia. We pull dogs from kill shelters and find them homes.

In our 11 years of existence we have saved over 100 healthy, beautiful dogs from certain euthanasia and made as many local families very happy. 

We pull wonderful dogs from kill shelters. We have no kennels so we rely on local families to foster our dogs until we can find them permanent homes. Our rescue pays for the dog's medical, food and we loan our fosters a crate. We have weekly adoption events at DogGone Natural in Leesburg and twice a month at DogGone Natural’s Ashburn location. Volunteers of all ages come to play with our dogs, hold their paws and be their advocates during our events. We welcome dog lovers ages 16 and up, volunteers under 16 are welcome when accompanied by a parent.

Without our help, shelter dogs don't have a chance. 1.2 million dogs are put to death each year in America's overcrowded shelters. By pulling these dogs from kill shelters and fostering them until they are adopted, we are saving lives. In our 6 years we have saved over 600 healthy, adorable dogs!
