Who We Are

At the American Cancer Society, our mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. From prevention to diagnosis, from treatment to recovery, the American Cancer Society is there every step of the way. And the determination and passion of our volunteers help us save lives. Every day.

Each year, our volunteers help us provide crucial patient services to everyone touched by cancer.

2.5 million volunteers are helping us to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. From helping patients with everyday needs to leading community events to assisting with day-to-day office needs, our volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Cancer Society.

What We Do

The American Cancer Society is a volunteer driven organization. As an American Cancer Society volunteer you can honor a survivor or a loved one lost to cancer, help save lives of people in your local community, and around the world. It only takes a little time to do a lot of good. Whether driving a patient to their lifesaving treatments, advocating for new laws or helping to plan a community event, discover how rewarding it is to be a volunteer.
