We unleash the power of neighbors and their communities to offer refuge by forming Neighborhood Support Teams (NSTs)--groups of everyday Americans who come together to offer support, friendship, and solidarity to a newly arrived family that's struggling.
What We Do
Train good neighbors to do the work of welcome, then match them with a family.
WelcomeNST identifies families in need through trusted partners who know them, then finds neighbors who say yes to those families and matches them together. We continue to support those NSTs by providing training, resources, tools, and human specialists to help ensure no newcomer walks the path to self-sustainability alone.
Exercise the superpower of community.
NSTs do what communities do best: welcome new families into their circle and walk alongside them, helping them thrive through challenging times. Specific goals are customized by family but may include helping to secure better employment, improving English, accessing transportation or job skills training, or accompanying them to important legal appointments.
