Who We Are
The Ladies Board has been an integral part of healthcare in Loudoun County since the inception of Leesburg Hospital in 1912. A mere two weeks after the six-bed hospital opened in a rented house along the town’s Market Street, The Ladies Board of Managers was organized by local churchwomen to provide volunteer supervision of housekeeping and to raise funds. The Ladies Board continued its role of supporting the hospital through the years, changing from Leesburg Hospital to the 25-bed Leesburg Memorial Hospital and now the 211 bed Inova Loudoun Hospital. We have moved from supplying kitchen and dining equipment and growing and canning vegetables for patients and staff, to assisting with major expansion of the hospital, helping to elevate
healthcare in Loudoun County. Our work through fundraising includes awarding over 1,300+ nursing scholarships for more than $1.2 million, and funding purchase of hospital equipment and patient service
additions outside the hospital’s normal budget. We hope you will join us as we continue our mission for the next 100 years “to promote good will between the community and the hospital and to raise funds for patient services, nursing education, and hospital projects.”
