Who We Are
Mission: Kids helping kids in the community.
PASTA started with a small group of students sitting in their basement trying to figure out how they could make a difference in their community. 12 years later – PASTA has completed over 1,000 community projects and currently has 25 chapters. PASTA is a student-run, student-led 501(c)3 with an all-student board of directors. We are Changing the Way the World Cares through Real Caring, Motivated Learning, and Serious Doing.
What We Do
We are organized by chapters of 3-6 middle school and/or high school students who do project-based volunteering. Members conceptualize, plan, and execute their programs on their own or in partnership with our various community partners. Major programs have included: Passion Fair, Free Father/Daughter Dance – Sugarland ES, Family Field Day, Eagleville.
Throughout our history, PASTA members have identified recurring and urgent needs in our community. As a result, we created signature programs like Nothing’s ImPASTAble, our free tutoring/mentoring program. We also have programs such as Families in Crisis program, and PASTA Talks, which provides peer to peer advice. Our signature programs let any student in the community engage in meaningful service, not just PASTA members!
